Philomela got raped by her sister's (Procne) husband (Tereus), and even got her tongue cut off to silence her. She wove a robe to her sister, explaining what happened, then worked with her sister to kill off their child and serve his remains to the husband. While running away, they prayed to the gods, and Philomela got turned into a nightingale.
